Thai-Chinese Architectural Heritage

While Thailand exhibits the same compelling evidence of Chinese presence, what sets Bangkok apart and makes for the visitor a fascinating journey of discovery is that subtle Chinese elements have also been blended into traditional Thai architecture. Like finding a Thai Buddhist temple tucked in a quiet lane behind a modern corporate glass tower, the evidence is there for the active traveler and the rewards for perseverance are a multitude of beautiful images that give an extra dimension to a visit and an insight into how Thais view themselves.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in New York functions to promote Thailand as the destination of choice for American travelers. TAT Headquarters selected New York to be its first overseas office in 1965. Since then, the New York office has continued to provide useful information on travel logistics, accommodation, and activities in Thailand for North American and Caribbean travelers. The areas of responsibility are Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Canada.
